The Town of Interlaken is a small town located in the middle of two lakes and surrounded by some smaller villages, one of them is Wilderswil. In the past years Interlaken has became an extremely popular place to visit. The town was first inhabited by monks in the 12th century and was not known to tourists until the 1830s when the steamboat on both Lake Thun and Brienz enabled people to reach this land. The railway system followed thereafter and kept exploring deeper into the valley until it reached the Jungfraujoch in 1912.
Travel to the Jungfraujoch via the “Jungfraubahn” train system, which was completed in 1912. At 3,454 Meters above sea level it is the highest train station in Europe.
It takes you just 32 minutes by Cable car to reach the summit of the Schilthorn in 2790m of height. Enjoy the beautiful view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage) and more than 200 other summits. Have a rich breakfast or a delicious meal at the world’s first revolving restaurant Piz Gloria and follow the tracks of James Bond: in the Touristorama we will show you extracts of the 007 Movie “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, which was filmed at the Schilthorn.
